Mongolia proudly announces the International Championship 2026, to be held under the auspices of the President of Mongolia.

This championship is more than just a competition. It is a major platform that brings together technology, innovation, engineering skills, sportsmanship, and international collaboration under one arena.

As drone technology continues to shape the future of aviation, logistics, smart systems, and digital transformation, this event aims to inspire the next generation of pilots, developers, and innovators while opening new opportunities for global cooperation.

Competition Format & International Vision

The competition is designed in an open format, welcoming participants from Mongolia and abroad. It will feature multiple categories that reflect both competitive drone sports and the future of intelligent aerial technology:

  • Open Class — high-performance racing and technical pilot skill
  • Tiny Whoop — compact agility, speed control, and indoor precision
  • Drone Soccer — teamwork, tactics, and aerial ball competition

This international event is being organized with the support and cooperation of leading state institutions and professional organizations in the fields of digital development, defense, civil aviation, communications, sports, emergency management, and drone racing.

DRONECON 2026 Aims To

  • promote drone sports and advanced technology in Mongolia,
  • develop practical skills and innovation capacity among youth,
  • encourage international participation and collaboration,
  • create a high-level competition environment for pilots and teams,

DRONECON 2026 International Competition Programme

The DRONECON 2026 International Competition Programme includes participant registration, technical inspection, briefing, preliminary rounds, semi-finals, final rounds, and the official award presentation ceremony.

International Competition

Day 1 — May 30, 2026

Registration, Technical Inspection, Briefing, and Preliminary Round

Participant registration, technical verification, general briefing, and preliminary flights will be conducted on the first day.

08:00–09:00

Participant Registration

Domestic and international participants, teams, and delegates will confirm their registration and receive accreditation badges, participant information, competition guidance, and required materials.

08:30–09:00

Technical Inspection and Verification

Drones, controllers, batteries, communication equipment, and other competition-related devices will be inspected to ensure compliance with technical requirements and safety conditions.

09:00–09:20

General Participant Briefing

Participants will be briefed on the competition structure, rules, flight order, safety procedures, emergency protocols, and the responsibilities of pilots, coaches, judges, and technical staff.

09:20–10:40

Preliminary Flights and Technical Evaluation

Participants will take part in initial preliminary flights, skill challenges, stable-control evaluation, and technical readiness checks.

10:40–10:50

Preparation Break for the Opening Ceremony

Participants, teams, and guests will prepare to attend the official opening ceremony.

12:00–13:00

Lunch Break

Participants may rest, have lunch, conduct internal team preparations, and visit designated activity areas.

13:00–15:00

Continuation of the Preliminary Competition Round

Preliminary flights will continue. Participant performance will be evaluated based on timing, precision, control stability, and task completion.

15:00–16:00

Technical Practice Flights

Participants will conduct familiarization flights within the competition environment, check signal quality and technical setup, and review the course, obstacles, landing zones, and flight conditions.

17:30–18:30

Continuation of Preliminary Flights

Delayed runs, approved re-entry flights due to technical reasons, and flights by reserve participants may be conducted during this session.

18:30–19:00

End of Day 1 Briefing and Information

A summary of the day’s competition progress, preliminary results, Day 2 flight order, and organizational information will be announced to participants.

Day 2 — May 31, 2026

Semi-Finals, Final Round, and Award Presentation Ceremony

Final-stage flights, results confirmation, award ceremony preparation, and the official closing ceremony will be held on the second day.

Attendance Confirmation and Preparation

Final-stage participant attendance will be confirmed, a short technical inspection will be conducted, and the day’s safety briefing and flight order will be announced.

09:00–10:30

Qualification Continuation / Selection Round

Participants advancing from the preliminary stage will continue competing under additional evaluation criteria, with judges reviewing and consolidating performance results.

10:30–11:00

Semi-Final Round Preparation

Flight order, technical readiness, and rule briefing for semi-finalists will be confirmed.

11:00–12:30

Semi-Final Competition

Semi-finalists will compete in advanced tests of technical skill, operational stability, timing, precision, and task completion. Judges will determine which participants advance to the final round.

12:30–13:30

Lunch Break

Participants may rest, have lunch, check their technical preparations, and complete internal team coordination.

13:30–14:00

Final Round Preparation

Finalists will complete the final technical check and receive instructions on final-round rules, scoring, and the confirmed flight order.

15:00–15:40

Results Consolidation and Award Ceremony Preparation

Judges will consolidate and confirm the final competition results, while the award presentation ceremony preparations are completed.

15:40–15:50

Transition to the Closing Ceremony

Participating teams, athletes, judges, and distinguished guests will prepare to attend the closing ceremony.

Programme timing and sequence may be adjusted depending on the number of participants, weather conditions, technical readiness, flight safety requirements, and operational circumstances.
